Situated at the border of Vancouver and Burnaby, the five-storey NationWide Self Storage & Auto Wash provides a 6,000 square foot water-efficient carwash at ground level, with a 90,000 square foot carbon neutral self-storage facility above. The building’s bold exterior design features clean lines with a mix of glazed curtain wall and grey and blue metal cladding.
The project has achieved Carbon Neutral certification by reducing its energy demand with a high performance envelop, energy efficient engineering systems that have low carbon footprint and no gas consumption. The application of PV panels to offset the reduced carbon footprint of the total electricity consumption on a yearly basis achieves Carbon Neutral status for the life of the building.
